Six Hours. One Friday.

To the casual observer there was nothing unusual about these six hours. To the casual observer this Friday was a normal Friday. Six hours of routine. Six hours of the expected.

Six hours, one Friday.

A shepherd with his sheep, a housewife with her thoughts, a doctor with his patients. But to the handful of awestruck witnesses, the most maddening of miracles is occurring – God is on the cross. The Creator of the universe is being executed!

It was no normal six hours….it was no normal Friday!

The above is an excerpt from the book entitled “Six Hours One Friday” by Max Lucado. This book goes on to talk about what our Savior did for us during those six hours and the price that was paid for your sins and for mine.

Not only did our Savior show us His love during those six hours but He also showed us His power three days later when HE arose from the grave.

Today we celebrate “Good Friday”. A day when we look back and remember what our Savior did for us on that cross and what he had to go through to get there. Are you one of those people that is a “casual observer”? Are you one of those people that this Friday is just a normal Friday?

Those six hours changed history forever! Because of that happened, those six hours have the power to change you and me!

I would like to know what those six hours mean to you!
